What is Kurdish Rights?
Kurdish rights refer to the fundamental human rights and specific cultural, political, and linguistic entitlements sought by the Kurdish people, a stateless ethnic group spread across several Middle Eastern countries. These rights aim to address historical marginalization, discrimination, and suppression faced by Kurds, who often lack their own sovereign state.
The core of Kurdish rights includes the right to self-determination, the preservation and promotion of their distinct language and culture, political representation, and protection from persecution. They exist to ensure that a large, identifiable ethnic minority group can live with dignity, maintain its identity, and participate fully in the societies where they reside, without being forced to assimilate or being denied basic freedoms due to their ethnicity.
